Critical Infrastructure

CASE STUDY

Critical Infrastructure

Natural hazards, while still a danger to vital resources, pose risks to physical and technical infrastructure, as shown by the explosions, hurricanes, and other storms this year. The ability to manage these activities in real-time requires serious situational knowledge.

Internal threats remain a special concern to physical and cyberinfrastructure. Vital intelligence can be captured by the Bio-Ax Bodycam allowing critical evidence to be detained and interrogated. Critical infrastructure security and resilience requires a clear understanding of the risks we face, as well as a whole‐of‐community effort that involves a partnership between public, private, and non profit sectors.

Managing risks to critical infrastructure involves preparing for all hazards, reinforcing the resilience of
assets and networks, and remaining vigilant and informed. Insider threats exist across public and private sector organizations. An insider may be a trusted current or former employee, a contractor or associate who causes harm, either wittingly or unwittingly, to a company or public sector. Insider threats include a broad range of physical and cyber actions, from theft to subtle forms of sabotage, to more aggressive and overt forms of vengeance, and even workplace violence.
